Sié & Patrick's Wedding Weekend in Sona, Italy

A wedding weekend in Italy with family & friends and a ceremony under Olive Trees at Villa dei Cipressi

Slow mornings with Cappuccino & Cornettos

The morning started in the most Italian way possible with cappuccino & cornettos in the villa garden. Since many guests were staying at the historic Villa dei Cipressi in the small village of Sona, everything felt incredibly relaxed and unhurried.

The boys got ready in the aesthetic billiard room, while things turned emotional with Sié in the old library of the villa – surrounded by bookshelves, Italian Vogue magazines and warm morning light – including a heartfelt first look with her bridesmaids and family.

Wedding ceremony under olive trees
The ceremony took place under old olive trees – intimate, emotional, and led by close friends. There was laughter, tears, and so many personal stories about the couple. These honest words are exactly what make symbolic ceremonies like this so special.

Aperol, golf cart & Italian vibes

After the ceremony, the couple took the gold cart through the villa grounds to the reception – I absolutely love those moments!

Italian snacks, plenty of Prosecco and Aperol were waiting, along with that effortless atmosphere where everyone talks, laughs, and nobody is checking their phones.

Sunset in the olive hills

At sunset, we headed up into the olive fields again – a short escape from all the energy. Just Sié & Patrick, soft golden light and that timeless Italian landscape. One of those moments where everything suddenly slows down.

Outdoor dinner & winter garden party

What I love about weddings in Italy is how every part of the day has its own setting: ceremony under the olive trees, Aperol on the terrace, and dinner under the open sky. The vegetarian menu was definitely a highlight – paired with that relaxed summer evening atmosphere you only really get in Italy.

After the traditional first dance came the surprise and the start of the party: a Bachata dance with Spanish vibes, inspired by the bride’s Colombian roots – complete with a sparkling party dress. Afterwards, the celebration continued in the winter garden.

It was honestly almost impossible to narrow down the hundreds of photos from this weekend – because of the beautiful emotions and the unique Italian atmosphere.

And that warm feeling stays: wishing you could just stay a few more days.
