Janna & Tim – Emotional Civil Wedding in Bergisch Gladbach

An intimate 4-hour wedding documentary filled with honest moments & real connection

Janna & Tim definitely proved that even a civil wedding can feel incredibly emotional and full of life. I accompanied them for four hours — from their first look to the ceremony at the beautiful registry office in Bergisch Gladbach and the reception afterwards. And honestly, it shows that even a shorter coverage can turn into a truly documentary-style wedding story.

From the very first look, it was clear how emotional this day would be. So many happy tears and that special kind of nervous excitement right before the ceremony. Plus the most beautiful light — and of course their dog Boss had to be part of it too.

The ceremony itself felt very personal and intimate. Afterwards, I documented the reception with their family and friends — lots of hugs, conversations, funny little in-between moments and a few family photos. Can you spot the photo with the hornet’s nest? Somehow that random little detail completely fascinated some of the guests, and I honestly think everyone will remember it forever now. Exactly why I love capturing those unexpected little moments as well.

Because in the end, it’s this mix of emotions, real interactions and spontaneous situations that makes wedding reportages feel truly alive.

Why I love short civil wedding documentaries

Especially on Fridays or during the week, I love documenting shorter weddings and civil ceremonies between 2–4 hours around Düsseldorf. And if there’s a small celebration afterwards, I’m always happy to stay a little longer.

Because even within a few hours, real documentary-style memories are created — full of honest emotions, unposed moments and genuine connection.
