Liza & Kevin's
Wedding Day Party at Bodhi Beach Club Zandvoort
Beach Wedding with Tattoos, Rain & Party Vibes – an unconventional wedding documentary by the sea
Where do you even start with a day like this? Liza & Kevin’s wedding documentary is a colourful collection of real, unposed moments – exactly how I love weddings: emotional and full of life.
Getting Ready with Sea View – emotions upstairs, rave downstairs
The day started in a Airbnb with sea view – Liza’s wedding gang upstairs, Kevin’s downstairs. While the girls had emotional moments with handwritten letters, hugs, and a first look with her dad, downstairs it was more about beer, hardstyle music, and funny group shots.
Bollerwagen & beach walk
We headed to the venue with a little beach wagon – drinks in hand, full of excitement. I loved documenting this short walk because these in-between moments are what wedding documentaries are all about. The bride didn’t get to experience it in real time, but got to see it all later through the photos.
Beach ceremony – rain? doesn’t matter
The ceremony was funny, personal, and emotional – led by friends, which made it even more special. And then the rain came. But instead of stress, everyone simply grabbed their chairs into the tent. People moved closer together, and this cosy “us against the weather” feeling appeared.
Reception with tattoos & bitterballen
After the ceremony, there were Pornstar Martinis, bitterballen and the next highlight: tattoos. The couple got their wedding rings tattooed on the spot, and afterwards everyone else could get their own. I’d say around 70% of the guests got a spontaneous tattoo. From tiny seashells to bath ducks on someone’s bum.
Party-Mode: on
The first dance started already around 8 PM – typical for the Dutch coast because of venue curfews. From that moment on, the dancefloor was packed all night. Only the sunset briefly interrupted the party – and what a moment that was. Despite (or maybe because of) the weather, it was absolutely magical. I quickly stepped outside with the couple for some more portraits, grabbed a few guests for spontaneous mini couple shots, and then went straight back to the dancefloor. The last photos were taken right in the middle of the party – and yes, I always love ending the night dancing a little myself.
